About World Bible School Students

Who are World Bible School students?

WBS students are real people with a real desire to know God. They are "truth-seekers"-people who have chosen for themselves to study the Bible. They are also "referrals"-friends and family that a WBS student has provided to be able to study, too. WBS students are from all over the globe-179 countries. (In a single recent month, students enrolled to study from 141 countries!) WBS students can be found all across America , as well.

WBS students are of many races and cross all socio-economic levels. They are of all ages and from every occupation. They live in villages, towns, cities, and the world's densest metropolitan areas.

However, in this diversity, these people have in one thing in common: a desire to know God and His will.

How does WBS get students?

WBS finds students in a variety of ways. Historically, students have responded well to inexpensive advertisements placed in newspapers around the world. However, print advertising has become less cost-effective as costs have risen and societies have more and more media vying for people's attention. At the same time, advertising via the Internet is proving to be more and more effective in reaching new students.

WBS is having great success in mobilizing national Christians around the world to reach out to and enroll people to study in the areas where they live. Color handouts and enrollment forms are being used by churches, preachers, follow up workers, and everyday Christians around the world to enroll students. Short term mission campaigns from the States also do a good job of getting the word out about WBS. As noted above, students also proactively provide referral names so that their friends and family can have the same opportunity to study as they have had.

Many students respond by writing the WBS office to request courses. The student web site, www.wbschool.org, lets growing numbers of students enroll to study online-whether they wish to study with printed, postal courses or with Internet-based courses. Student names and addresses are forwarded to teachers and churches that request them.
