WBS: Telling the Old, Old Story
Stories from WBS Teachers

Foreign Soil and New Orleans Evacuees

by Martin Gay - Meadows Place, Texas

Since the WBS program began in 2001, the Sugar Grove Church of Christ has sent over 160,000 lessons to students around the world. Nearly 400 have been baptized and added to the church through this program. As a result, God's Word is able to touch the hearts of people of all nations.

In this photo, Martin Gay, WBS Ministry Leader for Sugar Grove hands out Introductory lessons to some of the New Orleans evacuees from the recent hurricane Katrina. Approximately 40 lessons were handed out on Sunday, September 4, 2005 during a lunch served by the Church for evacuees staying at local motels/hotels.

Sugar Grove has an outreach program of help to meet needs of many evacuees and is coordinating this effort with other churches in Fort Bend County, Texas.
